High efficiency trigeneration in the food industry

80%
ELECTRICAL ENERGY SAVING (8.736.000 KWH)
The work carried out has allowed our client - a leading multinational company operating in the bakery sector - to realize and start-up a real CHP central for the combined production of electricity, thermal energy and cooling energy through the installation of a high efficiency trigeneration system.
The generator consists of an endothermic engine whose motive power generates a nominal electric power of 1.560 kW while the heat recovery from the exhaust gases and from the cooling allows to produce four distinct thermal vectors: diathermic oil, superheated water, hot water and chilled water by means of an absorption chiller (absorber).

Results obtained:
  • SYSTEM POTENTIALITY
    electric power: 1.560 kW
    electric energy: 8.736.000 kWh/year
  • HEAT RECOVERY
    diathermic oil: 327 kW
    overheated water: 348 kW
    hot water: 319 kW
    chilled water: 240 kW
  • ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
    CO2 emissions avoided: 1.450 tons/year

The plant built has been equipped with a monitoring system capable of measuring and historicizing its performance. This is essential for the final balance and verification of the energy benefits achieved. The plant is also equipped with a computerized system for the continuous measurement of the physical and chemical parameters of the exhaust gases and a system for the reduction of NOx emissions.

The intervention has been analysed, designed and implemented by RENOVIS.
